Hello MB Experts!

I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight, when we lock our 2000 C320, the hazard lights start flashing at double speed, and continue flashing until the car is unlocked again? (No alarm sounds). We've tried disconnecting the battery, but still no luck?

Please please help!!

Many thanks!

Wot are you thinking malcolm? I am guessing some water ingress, into possibly the siren itself. maybe a sam fault?

Hi,
The 'original' post was for a C320 2000 model (not a 2002 C220 coupe).
There was no W202 320, did they do a 320 W203 apart from C32 AMG? or maybe he has got his 3 and 2 the wrong way round this case it still could be a W202.
If you don,t know what model you have the first three digits of you chassis number will tell you.
If you post the first 6 digits of your chassis number as this is what most people would need to try and diagnose your fault.

I know the original post was not the same model as my own. If you look, it was posted back at the start of last year. I found the post following a "Search" when my car developed the same problem.
2002 C220 cdi Coupe WDB203
Doesn't do it every time but I now have to check each time I lock the car that the flashers have gone out, as they should.

I did not see this post, but I also think that it could be a water problem, this could also explain why it has gone away

Hi there. I'm a new member and this is the first post.
I am having an issue with a C220 I have just purchased. It is a 2001 w203.
Sometimes, when I lock the car with the key fob or inner key, the hazard lights flash continuously until car unlocked.
It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes it can go weeks without a problem. The all of a sudden it starts up again.
As the nearest dealer is over three hours drive away, I have to take it to a local mechanic. He has plugged in the diagnostic tool but found no error.
Can anyone help please.

I think that we can say it is the alarm siren that is failing fast
