just had a 12000 mile service caried out on my 300ce and has found a external oil leak from the head gasket they think it will cost between 550-600 pound is this a fair price many thanks :!:

The gasket set and the re-skim, will cost very little.

The variations in price will reflect the different labour rates.

I have been quoted by 3 garages for a head gasket on a 300CE24. The range is between £850 and £1100. The labour rates ranged from £36-50 per hour. Interestingly the £50 per hour garage gave the fastest job time of 10 hours and also the lowest price.

I would imagine that the 24v head will cost a bit more than a 12v, but where are you located? I wouldn't mind getting a quote from your garage to get my car done.
