Head unit upgrade

Hi guys, new to the site just acquired a 2003 e500 avantguard with a factory Nokia 6310
Audio 20 and 6 disc changer in dash.
as I am wanting to use my iPhone through the head unit and steering controls, is there any other options than the mbu-1000 ie upgrade to Bluetooth head unit etc.
Seen a few on flea bay (from China) satnav BT etc
the car has an amp in the boot

The audio 20 May have a spare input on the back. If it does you can run a cable and plug phone in.

the Bluetooth doohickey are ok but can suffer from a bit of interference (add a choke on the +ve supply to the cigarette lighter where they usually plug in)
