Does anyone knows how to reconnect the vacuum pipes on the dash to the headlamp height adjust switch. It is not working at the moment and after investigation it turned out that none of the pipes are connected. One connector at the back of the switch are broken off and one pipe seem to have been blocked off. As I do not have a manual on the car is there anyone who knows in which order to connect it back again?? Please help!

Headlamp height adjust

Hi Charlie thanks,

yes it is a '91 230e W124, will the engine number help? Two second hand part dealers have asked me if it has the large trim on the outside (which it has) and according to them the switch will then 3 instead of 2 pipes connecting to the vacuum pipes?? Does this make sense?

I take it you have visited SA?

when i removed the dashboard on my 190d (1987) there were only two vacuum hoses connecting to my dash light adjuster

as far as i recall, there was a purple one and a black one, and i think the purple one was below, either way you'll find out by experimenting.

the reason one of your hoses is currently blocked off is to let the rest of the vacuums work in the car, so id imagine both are blocked off,

any chance of you taking a photo of the area in question and posting it here

cheers

Id also suspect that they have been removed and blocked off for a reason. Such as leaks ect....
