Hi,

I am fairly new to the forum, and this is my first post. I have recenlty bought a Mercedes W210 estate. It has a headlamp washer fluid leak. It empties the washer reservoir fairly quickly, and is leaking from the back of the lamp washer nozzles. Does anyone know if there is a grommet or washer that needs to be replaced, or does the complete washer nozzle need to be replaced. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Can anyone point me in the direction to the headlamp waher system diagram?

Look forward to any replies.
Regards
Suzz

sounds to me like the tube may have slipped off the connector on the back or the pipe has split

Hi,

I am away until the end of the week now. I shall have a look at it on Saturday, and post back my findings.

Hi All,

The leak was not from the pipe connecting the washer jet. It appears to be leaking from the washer jet itself. Water is leaking on the jet where the body of the jet can swivel round. Looks like a new jet is required. I have disconnected the pipe in the mean time, and capped it off, to stop any further washer fluid leaking. Does anyone know if it is easy to replace the washer jet? Does the lights and the bumper need to be removed to replace the washer jet?

Regards
Suzz

I'm assuming you have the facelift model

with the jets in the bumper.

This looks simple, until you take it into context with the front bumper

You can get at the foglights from the flaps underneath the bumper spoiler, but i can't remember whether you can get at the washers. It might be a bumper off job, which is a bit of a pain.
If it's a pre-99 version, it might be easier, as the jets aren't in the bumper, as I recall.

Sorry malcolm, I crossed with your post while i was replying. No clash intended.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the update. The mercedes is a face lift model, so i suppose the bumper will need to be removed.

Cheers
