I am taking my chances at diving into the expansive knowledge of the members of this forum to aid my ignorant self a bit

Heres the background info.
I drive a Right hand W203 C240 in New Zealand on the left hand side of the road with pre-facelift headlights.

I recently changed to aftermarket headlights that I purchased from America and have noticed the beam pattern that I didn't know if it was a problem or just normal

Excuse my pathetic paint skills but heres a diagram:

The right headlight beam directs much further out and wider than the left hand beam, which is small in comparison.

Is this to avoid blinding left hand drive cars? Its my guess.

If its a problem I need to know so I can get it fixed! Many, many thanks in advance to any help given!!!

Have you checked the beam height on a vertical surface say from 8ft

When you say you have aftermarket headlights- what have you changed? the headlight unit itself , the bulbs and what sort of bulbs ?
would also guess that usa headlight would be deflected to the wrong side of the road, ie lhd headlights. should not affect the beam pattern though.

I got a new headlight unit plus HID kit which came with bulbs and an electronic ballast. Someone suggested that my ballast may be defective, thus causing the lower beam?

Heres the new lights :

would presume they are both d2r bulbs (painted areas on both bulbs) ?
just asking questions so others can maybe give you an answer.
the light output looks very weak in pic.Are they meant to be reflector rather than projector lights?

I would swap the ballast over to see if the fault changes sides
