headlight fan

hi guys ive got a 2014 e220 cdi facelift. the car has been perfect up until now its done 129000 miles the problem ive got is the drivers side headlight fan is on constant and driving me nuts all bulbs are fine,had it checked on a star machine passenger side reads 28 degrees drivers side 42 degrees. so is it a complete new headlight or is it probaly the control modual has anybody else had this pain ass problem thanks barry

Very likely the ballast/ lamp ECU.

Ok. Strongly suggest you check with Mercedes Grangemouth, speak to their parts department. They offer a discount to forum members here. If you give them your VIN they will give you the right part number (and offer a competitive price too). I had to change the ballast on my 211; wheel off and wheelarch liner half out to access the underside of the headlamp. Took about half an hour.

IF that’s the problem… but I’d imagine it is. The controller is held onto the headlamp with only two screws. Don’t drop them!
