Has anyone tried the protectors available from Climair? Clip-on clear protectors seem to be like hen's teeth fro the E211. I'll bet the cost of a stone through a zenon is just a bit worrying....

I fancy 2 pairs actually - one for UK and one for when I stick those infuriating Halfords beam adjusters on to go over the water.

Any people had experience with headlight protectors for the E211?

Thanks, Russ.

Hi Russ, getting a broken headlamp is minimal as yours are plastic I believe, easy to polish up like new

IIRC they are not legal in the UK, having said that I very much doubt you would get pulled for it considering the lack of traffic police these days.

Hello Blobcat - I might have mislead people. I'm thinking of the clip-on clear plastic headlight protectors that you can get for most makes of car.

I thought 2 pairs would be good so that I could leave the Halfords benders on one pair and simply swop the protectors over to the non-stickered ones when I got back in UK.

I did this for years with my Passat and all went well - including MOT's.

Anyone with a E211 tried the Cliair ones?

Thanks, Russ.

Hello Television. I can see your point about a scratch on the cover of the headlight being polished out but what happens if a stone goes through it?

Am I right in thinking that the outer cover isn't actually a functioning part of the Xenon headlight? But even so, won't it be expensive to replace - allways assuming you can replace the outer cover seperately from the Xenon bit itself?

Then there's allways the possibility that a stone will go through the outer cover and smash the Xenon. The clip - on cover would at least give an extra layer of protection.

Anyone had experience with the Climair clip - on's? and has anyone had stone damage to the Xenons? If so, how did they go on fixing it?

Thanks, Russ.
