The wipers don`t wipe but the washers still wash. The fuse is OK. Is there a single motor driving both wipers? If so I suppose it needs replacing.

Removing the wipers

If you are handy you can service these units.
Removing wiper balde arm (lift the cover and theres a bolt underneath) the indicator and headlight. Then there are 3 bolts to release the headlamp wiper motor.

Manoevure it forward and unclip the wiring harness and pull off the pipe supplying washer fluid. Use a clothes peg to secure it up so the screen wash doesnt run out.

You can then release the assembly of the motor and fitting frame from the car.

Often its just corrosion on the shaft that jams it solid. First put the nut from the wiper arm back on the thread and then give it a few taps to see if you can break the jam.

if not you will have to remove the shaft from the motor.

The back of the wiper is covered by a plastic clip on cover that takes some releasing as it has multiple clips all around it but with patience it can be done.

Be careful when you open it and you will see a small plastic shaft with lobes on it and some gears - make careful note of each position.

Remove the assembly and you will reveal the round disc that has a peg on it, an arm that connects to another disc which is on the end of blade shaft. Carefully remove the arm and then you can tap the shaft back through the assembly.

Use a bit of sandpaper to get rid of the corrosion and put it back in, make sure it rotates easily.

Use grease to lubricate (LM woudlbe fine) and reassemble.

Each side should take about an hour as reassembly is fast.

Thanks Julian and jberks but not being too handy I think I`ll leave it until the next service or major problem crops up and my indy garage will check it. The water pressure is pretty good so the headlights will be clean enough.
