When should the headlight wipers start, when I turn the lights on??
Plus can anyone point me in the right direction. I need a near side wiper/arm for my above car. looked everywhere

The heated windscreen washer jets - when do they heat up???

Yes the wash wipers only come on with the headlamps to save wasting washer water

from my limited experience, the headlight wipers (dumb idea if you ask me) only came on (on my old 190D) when i pressed in the stalk to squirt water on my windscreen,

now, if yours don't come on at all, then that's mostly normal as the motors in them fail very easily or alternatively the nut holding the small wiper to it's bolt may be loose/seized

Assaid, wipers only wipe and squirt, and only do that when you have the lights on, and activiate the windscreen washer.

Ebay or MercMan or post a "wanted" ad on here and the MBClub forum.

Not sure about the heated washer jets, I guess they will be on at the same time as the drivers mirror heater. So if the mirror is warm to the touch, the jets should be getting heated.

i believe they only come on if the temp outside meets a certain condition, like 15 degrees Celcius and below.

The reason I asked about the wipers is;
I got home the other night (lashing it down) and there was a buzz coming from the alarm speaker, but only when the lights were on. I noticed that the headlight wiper had got stuck under the bevel of the headlight ( I have recently replaced the glass, so I must have put the wiper back in the wrong position) . Anyway I released the wiper and the buzzing stopped. It must have been screaming for help.
I need a near side arm and blade cos some scumbag broke the original off. I have tried e-bay and a few scrappers - no luck, euro parts can't source one at the moment. The arm and blade cost ca£50 from the dealers.
The heated washer jets...................just curious, I thought maybe they come on when the rear window defroster is on but a temp sensor makes more sense.

You can get the headlight wiper arm and blades from Euro Car parts for posterity and anybody doing a search in the future.

where does one get a healight wiper blade from - dealer is charging £20.92 + vat each for a 3 inch wiper blade (W126 - 1982) what the hell i can put a weeks petrol in for that! what nonsense.

Eurocarparts can supply these ! Ive just replaced arms and wipers on my 1990 300SL. You can order online and be sure to specify which side as they are different.Blades £13.37 +vat each arms £35 +vat each................Just read the second page of posts ,I must of just got the last 2 in the country then . Well it's just gone 3 am and I've just finished work ?
