Headlights not Working

Hi I have E240 ava E class (2000) All of a sudden the main front headlights have stopped working. Turn the light switch once and the small inner lights work turn it again and nothing. Is there a fuse as both light (Left and Right) are not working. Any help please?

Yes you do have fuses,also a relay for the head lamps.

Hi Malcolm, Would you know what number and where the fuse is (Engine, Near the light switch, Under the rear seat) Also if there is a relay again where?

Fuse compartment is at the rear of the engine bay on the driver's side and should have a chart in the lid listing fuse function and amperage.

Yeah i have looked there and no sign of any fuses for the head lamps...must be on a relay..any suggestions

Driver's side dash, at the very end of the dash where it touches the door panel (when door shut). There are fuses there for the lights.

Thanks everyone...Just to let you know both bulbs blew at the same time for some reason... Even the Merc guy was confused. Because they where confused and they could not find a fault they fixed it for free. Even the bulbs where on the house. RESULT
