Blower

check that no leaves etc have got into it, or that a parking ticket or the like has slipped down the demister duct, its a common fault.

Heater motor.

Carefully check all your fuses. Remove them and clean the terminals - a spray-can of electrical contact cleaner is ideal - and replace the fuses. Do the same with all the relays you can find. Surprising what this can cure.
Leaves or parking tickets is unlikely to cause the motor to stop/start intermittently.
Good luck.

Parking tickets and paper can and do stop the motor intermitantly, been there, had it, done it, the ticking noise told me what it was, it took 3 hours to get it out

You sure it,s not just the thermostat control switching the fan off and on to maintain the set temperature. My C-class does not have aircon;not much call for it here in the frozen north;but i can hear the fan switching off and on and it does a fairly good job of keeping the temp. constant.

I certainly stand corrected if this happens to be the case. I would have thought though that the motor wouldn't keep starting/stopping in these circumstances.
I am not saying that this is the fault, the reason why mine started and stoped (124)was at speed, the air coming through the intake moved the paper. Tangential fans don't take much to stop them and are very low current devices. Malcolm
