heater/AirCon Fan Stopped

My heater/aircon fan has suddenly stopped running. The climate set-up is probably the same as the 260/280/300E from late '80 into the nineties, although mine is a 300SL W107 1989. The image will show the dash set-up in case anyone can offer suggestions before I start to pull everything apart.
I suspect it's the switch, but it could be some ancillary device on the fan motor, and any ideas at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

try the simple stuff first

fuses, then wiring and relays. lmk how you get on.

The only thing I can suggest is to check the live and switch feed to the fan regulator (and then on to the fan) first. This is the simpler area of the system and will tell you whether you have a fan or a switch problem. - Plus its a lot easier to strip down than the dashboard.

or it could be the resistor unit to control the fan speed,if this gives up,the fan will stop working,by what i can gather a few models of mercedes suffer this.
