Hi All

Re the roller wheels that control the dash air vents-are they all supposed to light up at night ? My drivers side one doesnt but I cant see how to get to a bulb-can anyone advise?
Thanks.

Hmm...it just seems odd that the centre and passenger ones light but not the drivers side !

No, I believe that I am 100% correct in say that they do not light up, there are no bulbs in them

Hi I have a W124 1994 model and just changed the passenger vent globe. All the wheels in the air vent light up but it may only be on models after 1993. The passenger vent is quite easy to take out. (the centre vent is a pig of a job) Look into the driver / passenger vent and you will see 4 small metal spring clips about 1 cm in from each corner top and bottom. Each clip has a small hole in it to allow insertion of a small thin prod of some kind. Insert a prod in each hole on one side, top and bottom and lift the clips. The bottom clip lifts up and the top clip pulls down, then pull one side of the vent slightly out. Do the same the other side and the vent will pull out. You really need 2 small thin screw drivers or similar to hold each clip on one side whilst you do the other side. You can then pull the vent out. You will then see wires going to the wheel globe if there is one and the globe holder just pulls out. To replace vent just push it back in until you hear each clip click into place.
Hope that helps
Colin

Many thanks colinspain. The drivers one has the same fixings. Just had a quick go, but having real trouble getting it out-three or four hands needed rather than two methinks!! Another job that can wait until spring!
