The flaps inside the heater are not moving, you will need to take off the dash panel covering the heater controls to get at some of the linkage, the rest is deeper inside the heater.
Remove the radio, remove two screws that hide above it and remove the nuts behind the heater knobs then pull off the centre dash panel. Behind the trim there is a black plastic moulding that also lifts out so you can access the heater unit.
