My heating does not seem to be as effective as it used to be. Can this be to do with the "gassing" of the aircon system?

Also, I find that on very cold mornings, I get moisture on the inside of the windscreen. Again, this was not happening before.

If you park your car outdoor at nights, and you leave the car with hot-air inside, it is normal I think. Cold outside causes saloon heat turn into moisture. I would refresh the saloon air before leaving the car.

My C Class does the same thing. I think it is quite common. Does your car take long to clear the windscreen on cold mornings as well?

Yes it does now. Previously, i.e. 2 years ago it did not and that makes me wonder if something has gone wrong.

Time to change the polen filter !!!!!!
Will allow more warm air into the car and will demist much faster.

Morning Phil
On my E class it is under the dash in the passenger footwell and is easy to replace!!! I dont know about the C Class but some one will point you in the right direction.
I change mine every year as a matter of course and it makes a vast difference to the amount of air being blown into the car.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike, and Good Morning.

I have a distant recollection that there is a filter, not sure which one, tucked away beneath the floor of the C-lass. However, because it needs changing relatively infrequently, it is placed in an awkward location which is only accessible when the car is raised up, as in a service.

I will seek my indie's advice next time I see him.

REGARDS

Had a B service done 4 weeks ago by independent dealer who charged for pollen filter. Not saying that they did not change it; is there a way to tell if it is new as I am the thread starter with heating/condensation problem.

Only by a visual inspection. If it looks new and clean
then it probably is.

Be careful when you lift off the filter housing as the two locating brkts on the bottom of the housing can break off (one of mine has) also the clips on the top can be difficult to remove. Bought new filter from MB oxford £16.08 + vat old filter looked dirty with bits of rubbish stuck on.
