heating upgrade

hi, iv got and e class with the standard heating control panel. would i be able to put a digital one in place. its the w211 modle

Tere are 3 versions. The basic 'analogue' panel - what you have i assume.
The 4 zone digital panel - as its name suggests, designed for a 4 zone system with extra sensors and vents (there are vents in the rear of the B pillar) as well as a rear control panel - sounds like a big conversion to me.
The new 2 zone digital panel as fitted to facelift 211s - mmmm maybe but I suspect they'll have changed the wiiring a bit.

so if i was to change is it not just a case of getin a one and plugin it in. mine does 2 zones

In the earlier cars it was a simple plug and play, You may have to ask MB this question, There is a very good chance that it is OK
