I recently had a dealer work on my wife's 97 320SL power top and they could not fix it. When I got the car back there was a curved plastic shield, 5 x 6 1/2 which has clips on one side and a molded handle on the other side. They told me they were not sure where it was mounted. It looks like they had taken the spare out to examine the pump and also looks like they had worked on power top module behind the passenger seat. Anyhow, if someone has any idea where this shield should be attached, It would be greatly appreciated.

Just put it somewhere safe, a home for it will turn up one day.
presume you have a good battery and have reset the windows and roll bar…

Thanks for your input. I brought the car home and started following video's I had found on the web. I checked battery voltage checked to make sure all the latches were good. Then I called one of the rebuild companies about rebuilding all the cylinders and he told me my issue, (both roll bar and power top button red lights on) was most likely the power top modules. I sent it out and had it rebuilt by benzgarage. NOW, top works fine but the passenger window will not syn.
