Hello All :) ,

I have purchased an E200 Elegance (R plate).
Full leather, AC , ASR etc.
Cars done 100k miles with a Full MB Dealer History got it for a real bargain too.

I needed a car to drive around in the winter time as my other car ( Integra Type R ) can get a bit skittish on cold roads and wont even move if it snows slightly.

What can i say about the Merc?

Solid, no rust, very very comfortable ride, so quiet I'm amazed, seating position... I need to get used to this as it feels like your sitting so high up and on top of the car ( if that makes any sense?), the accelerator pedal feels weird ( but again i will get used to it).

The only strange thing i done understand about the cars is the following,

in neutral it wont rev past 4000 rpm , in any of the gears pulls freely. I asked my neighbour who has an E class as well, his does the same and he said it's a Merc feature so you dont over rev the engine in neutral. A bit strange but if this is the case then ok.

Anyway i hope this car gives me trouble free motoring like my other car.

regards

Hi & Welcome,

Yes there is a rev limiter in Neutral. Although you have bought it for the winter they can be a bit of a handful in the snow. Pls have a search around the forum as winter tyres and traction has been discussed recently.

Thanks for Hello.

I'll bear the handling in mind.

The "search option" dont worry . I understand what a pain users can be who ask questions, start threads etc before searching.

wont happen with me again ( first strike)

Hello and welcome, it does not make much difference on the postings issue, many threads go around many times on the same subject, but I think we all learn a little more each time,or a new member joins who knows the answer. At times we get 2-3 postings running at the same time on the same subject.
