Evening all, bought this SL400 a couple weeks ago as a first car.
Driving this after learning to drive in a ~100hp manual was... an experience but I'm not up a tree yet.
I know the SL500 around this year is only around £3-4k more but my budget was strict and I thought a twin turbo V8 for a first car would be a quick way to a graveyard.

Anyway, this forum seems friendly so I'm looking to connect with other R231 owners to look after this car, any advice is welcome.

Hi Blobcat. Ok so I'm in my mid-twenties, I'm not 18 or anything. I predict the insurance would maybe have been into 5 figures for a teenager with this...
Passed my driving test in Jan 23, never really needed a car until I moved. Insurance was just under £1300 for the year full comp. Would have been £1150 if not for 2nd named driver. Then tax was £335.
