Hey,

I've just had delivered last week my first Mercedes, the C350e.

Hate to start with a question, but I've been trying to research it and I can find very little out about it.

Despite being full charge, ever since getting the car the emode has been greyed out & when I use it in Eco & Hybrid it doesn't do any miles on the electric, so my MPG at the moment is terrible.

I did read something about resetting the COMAND, which I did, but it hasn't done anything.

The car has had a few good runs, 30 miles yesterday, and it's still not back.

Any suggestions

Welcome. The conditions required for the hybrid power in these cars is more complicated than Pythagoras theorem !
Very few people are getting anywhere near the claimed electric miles in MB hybrids, especially the older generation (sorry that includes 2016). Don't mean to sound harsh, otherwise they are brilliant cars. I'd try driving it for a while in sports mode to try to heat everything up- temperature is certainly a high factor in getting range up/triggered.
Did you buy via the MB network?

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

And John, no I didn't, it was just a standard used car dealer.

Don't get me wrong, not expecting the world in terms of MPG, hell, I had a Land Rover before so even without any of the hybrid / plug-in functions I'm still ahead. My work got plugs installed, and I only work around 8 miles away, so thought that the range was perfect as I could probably run it pure electric.

So, I thought it may have been because it had been sitting idle in a garage for some time, with the battery probably needing to be perfect. I've not done as many miles as I had hoped, with lockdown and the recent snow, but I thought I'd done enough to maybe sort it out, I'd hazard a guess at 50-60 miles.

My longest run in it was 30 miles yesterday, in Hybrid & Eco, so I thought it would at least use some...

Maybe I'll try rag it around a bit in sports, see what happens.

Hello and welcome. A 4/5 year old hybrid is always going to be a potentially risky purchase so, if it doesn’t start behaving properly soon, I would get back to the trader that sold it and start talking about rejecting it if he can’t sort it. You don’t want to have to fork out for repairs yourself at a later date because that could be mega £££s

Welcome, by the way, the the forum and the world of Mercedes,

I don't have a massive amount of experience of hybrid cars, but my In Laws had one, and basically after a while, (at 5 years old) the battery started not charging properly, and like yours it ran on petrol most of the time. This is because batteries do not last forever, and hybrid battery technology is in it's infancy. So while I know nothing, my first suspicion would be that the batteries are knackered (technical term). How you go about proving this I am not sure, a report from the dealership might help, alternatively it could end up costing you more money. It really needs to go back to the vendor for diagnostics.
