Hello everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm David, from Barnoldswick in Lancashire, and I'm new to Mercedes ownership!
I bought my '01 SLK230 only 3 weeks ago, it's a replacement for my (now sold) MG. Maybe it's been previously owned by a member on here?
It's got full MB service history (except the last service), and has done 75,000 miles
Despite the new car being in relatively good condition, I'm still finding scratches on it that I hadn't previously noticed, but the worst one is on the passenger mirror housing, so it's going in to a local bodyshop on Monday to have that sorted.
I hope to contribute to this forum in someway, just like I hope to learn from the forum, ie I plan to do my own routine maintenance on the SLK and advice, hints and tips will be most welcome!

Nice looking car. Any problems, do ask - there is a wealth of helpful talent accessible here.

Hi Dave, and welcome to the Forum.

It is also good to meet other members "in the flesh" and, as luck would have it, there is a "get together" at Warrington a week tomorrow (See "Meet ups and Events").

We look forward to hearing more from you and hope you enjoy that splendid car. :D

Thanks all.
I've just been reading about the 'meet' next weekend, just got to run it past MrsDMM and we might pop over.
There is an SLK meet the day before over in Yorkshire, but I'm helping out at a bike race that day, but I'm keen to meet other MB owners and find out their experiences about looking after their cars etc. etc. etc. Lol.

Welcome Dave to the forum,,do take care on the mirror cover and the price,,they new ones come ready painted to match the car, though they could cost around £40 or more.

You would both be very welcome at the meet,,I hope that you can make it

Hi & welcome. I know Barlick well - visit RR with work regular
Hi Dave, that's where I work! Lol.

Thanks for the welcomes folks.

BTW, the MG I sold was a black 1979 Midget 1500 which I'd owned for over 10 years, so hopefully I'll be keeping the SLK for a very long time too. :D
