I have just bought a 1992 230TE, as referred to with an intermittent fault here:

http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=41139

I'm pretty sure whats wrong with it - time will tell.

Here is the ebay link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=130257570395&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=003

It looks like new inside, apart from the drivers seat, has a few rusty bits, but nothing serious, and the service history is as good as claimed, both the independents used have a really good name.

Will post some photos on Wednesday, after I have collected it.

Thank you.

Got my cover note today and taxed the car ready for tomorrow.

Ordered a continuation service record book from the dealer.

Put the keys on the key ring all ready to go and fetch it.

I'm like a kid waiting for Father Christmas...they say the older we get the dafter we get.

Only ever had a Mercedes before for two weeks - a company 190 which was pushed into a ditch with myself, wife and two young children in it. The car was dented on every panel, and written off. But we got out of it unharmed.

I've wanted another ever since.

There is just something about the cars that make them so special, the day that I brought my SL home 2 years back I slept in it the first night.

Let us have a report when it comes home

Sounds a better way of celebrating than smashing champagne over the bows.

How does it work with an SL though?

So it drove home fine, albeit the tickover is erratic.

Here's some pictures for you. Would have taken more but the RAF decided they were going to land some Apaches on the bombing range, so shooed me off.

If so can anyone sell me what it is?

And has anybody got a passenger seat in Brazil they can sell me?

Seems I bought a car with a rare interior.
