Hello All,

I just found out today about this forum and I am really glad I found it as I needed some advice.

I recently bought a new 21-plate GLB AMG Line which is under warranty. I was planning to install a Nextbase dashcam to my car but my garage guy told me that the warranty may get void if I hard-wire it to the car. Is this correct? And if it is, what are my options? I really don't want to connect the dashcam to the power supply with the cable hanging in the middle of my lovely car, and I also don't want to drive it without a dashcam for obvious reasons.

I am really not sure but I will check with them. I asked the Mercedes sales guy about where to get a dashcam installed from and he didn't say that they can install it so assumed they don't do it.

I'd say their talking out of their backside... Locate an ignition switched fuse in the fusebox and use a piggyback connector. Easy enough to remove the A-pillar trim and hide the wiring - just be mindful of the airbags when routing the cables.

Hello and welcome. I had a dashcam professionally fitted to my new GLC and didn’t even consider warranty issues. I think Mercedes would have to prove that fitting the dashcam directly or Indirectly caused that particular problem to avoid paying out under the warranty,
