Hi, I’m new to this forum. I’ve very recently retired and sold my chauffeur business and my work car which was a Ford Galaxy Titanium.
I’m now looking to purchase an E class cabriolet. I’m looking for a 2013 on facelifted one and would welcome your advice and comments on what to look out for or avoid. With my budget of around 14 to 15K I would be looking at a 250 or 350 diesel auto. Am I better with the 2 extra cylinders or is a four pot adequate ? What’s your thoughts. Which trim and what extras should I look for ? Thankyou. Mark.
10 years ago I bought this and toured Europe for 6 weeks with my wife and son for my 50th birthday. So now I want one for my 60th to do the same thing. I have to say it still is to this day probably the best and comfiest car I have owned. It never missed a beat in the 10,000 miles I owned it.

I have a 212 E350CDI 2011, had it 10 years & 60K miles only one minor fault. We tour Europe every summer in it except the last couple, its the ideal car.
As regards petrol or diesel depends on your millage & type of driving. Lots of miles & few short journeys diesel. Short journeys then petrol.

With the increasing number of cities imposing ULEZ zones the days of driving diesels are rapidly diminishing

Mercedes cars in general have a very long list of options so it's unlikely that any 2 cars will be exactly the same. Ideally you need to compare potential purchases with each other ie general condition as well as what toys they each have.

I don’t think they started the Premium and Premium Plus packs in 2014.
AMG-Line tend to have huge wheels and plastic seats. I’d avoid (especially the artico plastic seats). Try and find one with nappa leather and the driving assistance packs - usually distronic radar cruise

Artico - imitation leather - tears and cracks and is awful

I must admit I do like a toy or two but with my budget (15K) I think distronic may be too much. I would like the led lights package and maybe the suspension upgrade if possible. Thanks again for your time
