Hi,

Just joined the forum and have been poking about reading threads about 107 SL's. Currently an Audi driver but thinking of making the leap to a classic MB.

Rather than kick off with the usual questions that have normally already been answered by Myros in a past thread, I thought I'd just say hello.

Hello and Welcome,

Would the 107 be a weekend car / keeping the audi. I wouldn't want to use the merc as a daily especially with our poor weather at the moment.

What engine etc are you looking at.

Lovely classic shape.

It would replace the Audi (A3 1.8T). But it would only be a weekly driver really, I tube it into work so only really drive occasionally, maybe 6k miles a year.

It's definitely a daft idea though. I live in central London so the car would be parked outside. But i do love them!

Columbus sailing to "America" was daft idea and so was exploring for oil in the North sea. But sometimes daft ideas work.

just hope I don't fall in the 'inventing the C5' type of idea!
