hi ive had my van off the road for a week and need it for work. my glog plug light has been coming on after starting and it wouldnt start cold without easy start, glow plugs were replaced recently, have replaced the glow plug relay, old one had a burnt out bit, wires had been snapped off the water level sensor so i soldered them back on for now and will get a new sensor, now i have two problems. 1. cold starting still poor, no glow plug light with ignition on until i wait 30 seconds, it starts light gos out then comes back on for a min or two then goes out? dodgey plug maybe? another sensor? 2. after useing easey start
it over compressed and is now making a chuff chuff noise out of the injector at the front, number 1? is this the copper washer injecter seal and if so how do i remove the injector? i dont know much about deisels only petrols. thanks

injector is removed, undo fuel line with 14mm spaner, remove injector with a 27mm deep socket. was very tight so i put 3 in 1 oil all round it warmed it up... out it came!.
couldnt get the old seal out aparently tho if you start the enginge the compression blows them out, had the glow plugs tested but they are ok so i still dont know about the glow plug light, will keep trying

Hi, with tyhe light still staying on after fitting a new relay and new glow plugs I would suspect a wiring fault on the glow plug lead(s) - has one of them chafed through and shorted?

hi gave the van to mercedes to look at, they found 2 of the glow plugs tops were spining? sounds to me like the indi garrage that put them in did them up too tight? they replaced all the injector seals and the 2 glow plugs total cost £500. van starts fine now, one of the injector seals has started to leak again so im giving it back to them to sort out the work should have a waranty... surley?
