Hi all, newbie here, I have a W124 300E24V and the belt is squeeling like a stuck pig! I have searched all through the posts in this part of the forum but still can't find anything!

Where is the ****** 17mm nut to adjust the tension, along with the smaller nut of course!

pics added for someone (anyone!) to point out the obvious!

Any help would be most appreciated!

Belt tensioner

From the picture you posted, I can see this is the 104 engine, the belt tensioner is just next to the steering pump reservoir, pointing toward the sky and the lock nut is just above the tensioner at the front of the engine.

Just to bump a thread, been away for hols, time to fix the car, I have taken radiator shroud off to allow better access, I still cannot see the big nut I have to undo to allow me to tighten the belt, I'm still stuck, I can see the tensioner wheel and other pulleys now, there is a bolt on the tens housing (in pic).

Please someone help this idiot because I cannot use the car at the min, the belt is that loose the alt isn't charging!
