1994 MB SL 320 w/ Factory Bose stereo system.

Does anyone know what would cause the factory system to simply have no sound whatsoever? The system turns on, lights up, no error codes... and also no antenna going up... yet when I switch it to the CD Changer, Tape, Etc.. no sound at all. There are no blown fuses and as I stated, the stereo is functioning fine other than the antenna not deploying when the power is turned on (which has never happened until this incident). Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

has there been sound since you woned the SL?? Could be the internal amp on the head unit has been shorted and blown the amp. Have you removed the head unit to see if the speaker wires are connected.

Maybe the amp is in the rear by the electric aerial and a power feed fuse has blown?

On the estates the amp for the premium sound system is in the well below the aerial

Alright, thoroughly confused :)

thus far i've only found 3 fuses... 2 in the engine compartment that are OK and one on the bose am that is OK... someone mentioned about the antenna having a fuse as well? I'm having trouble viewing the schematic on the amp, website is not responding. I would truly like to avoid a service call at the stealership if it's possible :D And to answer a previous question, this is the first problem i've ever had w/ the sound system, worked in the past...

you know where the Bose power amp is now,. take out one of the input plugs and put a small screwdriver /wire in the center hole and you should get a buzz through the loudspeakers, no buzz and the fault is in the power amp, if a buzz the fault is in the head unit, this is nothing to do with the aerial as the CD would work
