Changed rear tyre on right hand side as it was flat.

New tyre installed and tyre pressure is slowly draining day by day. Sometimes it doesn't go below 200 kpa and then goes up by 10 for a bit and then down by 5 but this is something I'm seriously confused about isit a fault tpms? But I'm having to constantly put air in it? Changed last Wednesday. All other tyres have remained the same pressure regardless

Thanks much help appreciated

Do you have large alloy wheels? Do you have terrible roads with lots of pot holes and traffic calming measures?

If yes to the above I expect you’ve a cracked alloy wheel, which is leading to the air loss

Shall I take it back to the tyre shop for the to investigate if this is the case?

Why did you replace the tyre - was it worn or losing air.
If losing air the tyre place should have checked for a puncture and possible repair instead of blindly replacing the tyre, unless you told them - replace the tyre.

It makes zero logic that the pressure can rise itself. Are you going by the dash or a mechanical meter at the pump.

fault depends on the above. But the pressure cant go up itself......

Daughter's car had a tyre that did that - must admit I was baffled by slight pressure increase sometimes but I guess just change in air temp. Was caused by corrosion on the bead seating face. Tyre place cleaned it up.

Tyre was flat and needed changing anyways so was the best thing to do. Reading are from the dash and from a gauge. I'm taking it back today I'm just hoping it's something cheap and not costly.

Unless the tyre is getting very hot...

Takes some heat for the tyre pressure to rise that much.

Once had a situation in my T25 westfalia bus due to sticking brake caliper. Noticed only due to the smell in the cabin. The tyre was very warm as the heat had radiated alot. But thats another story.

Hope they chuck it in a bucket and check for leaks.

Good luck!

RESOLVED. Apparently the seal was bad a bit of dirt on on rim so they put it on again.

But little do they know the valve had been changed that I noticed. I think they forgot I kept having to put air in the tyre and I know how it looks lol! Won't be taking it there again for sure.

We have repaired many alloy wheels over the years, always crack on the inner rim where there is least strength. Only ever had 1 Mercedes 7 spoke wheel in for repair, lots of BMW, Audi.
