help clk roof problems

hi, I have a clk320 2000 and tried to put the roof down today, I haven't had it down for about 6 months, all I am getting is the button flashing at me and no movement at all, does anyone have any ideas? dont fancy a trip to MB.

Have u done the bit in the boot. Can't remember whats its called right now But I'm sure you know what I mean.

If that hasn't been done the roof switch will flash

excuse me for being dense but what bit in the boot would that be?
I've never had this problem before so havent had to go into the boot for anything to do with the roof, I have got the plastic roofguard on in the boot other than that is there something I shouls know about?

Haa, I meant the luggage cover. Might be worth removing that (letting it go back to the rear of the boot) and then refitting it in position just in case a switch has got stuck.

Another reason that the light may flash is if your battery is low apparently. Where you doing this with the engine running? if not, try it with the engine running.

Apart from that its probably a faulty mechanism :???:
