Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum.
This is to anyone who can help me source some parts without going to dealer.

I’m a New MB owner of a CLS Shooting Brake. It’s a facelift, I need a pair of tail lights and a bootlid. Tail lights mainly.
I have tried most of the well know Merc breakers / specialists and have had no joy.

I have tried synetiq, Dronsfield, Presitige AllParts, A1 Merc Parts. The list goes on.

if anyone has any good contacts, it would be really helpful.

Much appreciated :)

Try MB Grangemouth parts dept . Mention the forum they give a healthy discount and deliver for £5 ish . Should give you a guide price for the lights at least

Thanks “Wighty” for that contact. It was a healthy discount, much appreciated. £80 off the original price. MB Manchester said £540 so £460 from Grangemouth was brilliant.

I don’t mind some used tail lights either so I could get them cheaper.

I’m waiting til Monday to see if I get any other responses but I will definitely go for that if I don’t hear anything.

Thanks again.

Do you have the part numbers of the tail lights or know if the ones from the coupe fit? They certainly do look the same!

Reason I ask, I may have a set that fits your needs!!

just had a look at the part numbers, coupes and estates are different.

Part numbers are: A2189067700 N/S

I checked on eBay and matched part numbers with people who are breaking coupes.

Aha I see. That is where your confusion lies. The part numbers you have provided from yours ARE the same for coupes and SB's. The difference being facelift and pre facelift.

Your part numbers denote they are from a FL vehicle. The pre FL part numbers are A2189060258 & A2189060158 respectively.

The only difference is between the two, is the FL versions are a very slightly darker shade of red. How do I know all this....I carried out the mod on my CLS, fitting FL rear lights . Hence I have two immaculate pre FL lights which were removed from my car.

As you have found out, they cost a small fortune so it is worth your while looking about for used on the off chance you can find some which are not damaged!

If you are not fussed on the very slight difference, mine would definitely fit.

I really appreciate the information, because you’ve said that, I might have a set there

the facelifts do look better. Once you know the difference, there’s no going back haha.

thanks again Abb.

There is a set on the bay as we speak, but not cheap enough to buy used when you compare them to the prices you have been quoted.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES...095670?hash=item21632208f6:g:12wAAOSwdkNdj7Le

A quick way to check, FL lights have rear casings in black, pre FL are red.

Haha I’ve messaged this guy and told him I can get them new at that price and if there’s a chance he would do them cheaper. Just waiting to hear back but I’ve found a set anyway. Need to wait till Monday because they’re a breaker.
