Hi - hoping someone can help.

I've rented an SLK 2 for a 10 day driving trip round south of Spain in a few weeks.

Clearly will want top down for most of time, so luggage space will be limited.

The mrs will kill me if she can't get her 42 pairs shoes in the car, so having to pack strategically.

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the boot space with the roof down. Not the litre-age, I have that already - I need the actual measurements.

Cheers!

Dan.

i could, if i measured it.

but one suitcase is your lot. the boot has an annoying roof cover in it that takes up space and with the roof down you wont get the luggage out.

best option is to pack soft type hold all bags.

and if you dare. take out the spare wheel and the tray underneath it. then you will have more room in it.

if you can stand to sit forward you can get a suit-carry behind either or both seats. this is what i do but i have short stumpy legs so it isnt a problem.

My advice is travel light. if you are touring, she shouldnt need many clothes as you spend more time enjoying the car and the scenery.

if I remember I will see if i can measure mine for you.

If you use Delsey suitcases (The big hard ones) you will only get one in and not the biggest one they do either.

with the roof up you will get 2 in on top of each other.

Thanks for the responses - nice car. The photos were particularly useful as a measure of the amount of space. Particularly given I'll be carrying bottles of whisky around with me..... he he he.

Cheers for the help! If you happen to be passing the boot with a tape measure in your mit then the breadth and depth will also be useful.

As you suggest, think I'm gonna opt for one large holdall and then packing small bits and bobs in around.

Ta,

Dan.

just had a look. the max length is 0.56m or 56cm. that will be laying the suitcase on its side. you are looking at 33cm in height.

as the boot shape is not square, the holdall way is best. I would certainly take out the spare wheel.

the width is about 1.2m.

you need to look at one. pop round to an MB dealer and pretend to buy one.
