help drivers door lock problem 190e 1991

hello i have a 91 190e 1.8 and a couple of weeks ago the key on the drivers side would unlock the car but wouldnt lock it it was like something had sized inside the barrell :oops: so i took off the door panel and oiled inside where i could to see if that eased the problem and now the door still wont lock and the button goes down but the door still opens so i have to leave the car unlocked from the drivers side :oops:
please help someone?????????

Well take the trim off, see whats happening with the levers when you lock and unlock. It might be just that you have a bent rod or a something come loose or fallen off.

Unfortunately its not one of those that has a straight answer, you will have to play, with the trim off, to see whats happening.
