Help-ecu upgrades for 220 cdi engine

hi,was wondering if anyone has had their ecu upgraded/chipped.I have an 06 220 cdi and would like a bit more power and to get rid of a slight flat spot in first.any thoughts -experiences would be helpfull,thanks
