Hi everyone,
I hope you may be able to help.
I'm putting together a magazine article on supercharging. For this I need to know the crank pulley and supercharger pulley sizes of various Mercedes-Benz Kompressor models.
I had a pal within the MB dealership world who reliably undertook to get this information for me, only he didn't! So, I contacted MB Press office who were happy to help, but the boffins in Stuttgart to whom my request was passed are unable to look at it until after my deadline.
Thus, I throw my hopeful self upon the mercy of the Mercedes-Benz Club members:
Would anybody be in a position either to let me know the supercharger crank pulley and supercharger pulley sizes on their Kompressor model? I've been reluctant to pester people with the request, but days of internet searching have turned up nothing authoratitive or corroborated. There's lots of information on aftermarket overdirve pulleys, but nothing on what Mercedes-Benz fitted as standard - this is what I need to find out.
Opting to be hanged for a sheep rather than a lamb, if anyone is in a position to confirm whether it's an Eaton M45 supercharger or M62 which is in their car then so much the better. My understanding is that the M271 engined models all used Eaton M45s only with different pulley sizes (amongst other changes) to effect the different power outputs. As yet, I've been unable to confirm this. Can anyone confirm or refute?
I believe the M111 engined models used mainly M45 superchargers, but that the M62 was used in some 230Kompressors. Again, any and all information on this would be very gratefully appreciated.
If people feel so disposed, please could they let me know the year, model and pulley sizes? Even if it's only partial info that'd still be great.
Hope you can help.
Thanks!
Ewen
