What I was trying to say was "Why did you have the bonnet open?" Did you check or touch anything whilst you were under there?

Sorry to laugh at the hood thing, ahem have you got it going yet??

Sounds like fuel to me, can you hear the fuel pump priming when you put the ignition on (under drivers floor at the rear, normally buzzes for a couple of seconds. if not give the pump (not the filter next to it) a clout.

Possibly the pump relay/fuse (green relay with a 30 amp fuse on top) Not sure of exact location on clk but on c class, which your car is based on, it is under the plastic panel below boot carpet at front (closest to seats)

ITS YOUR KEY FOB

Use your spare key. When the battery goes dead in the remote it does not turn off the imobiliser dispite the locks open. The engine will turn but will not start.

No your car will have the new type key, the batteries are only for the remote locking, not required for starting, old type has the spring loaded 'flick knife' key.
