much as I hate to upset anyone - especially the people that do all the good work - but I find that the forum has changed for the worse with all the sections :(

I used to be able to log in a couple of times a day and we had two sections to check, now it takes for ever to go through all the sections to acheive the same thing - check what has been updated.

Sorry to be negative, but it really isnt easy to quickly keep abreast with recent items.

Mark.

we wont get upset. all comments are useful. one of the things i was worried about was having too many sections. i dont feel that this forum has an overabundance of sections.....check out http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/ . these guys think they have the best MB forum on the web....yeah right.

and this lot think they are the best in the world....http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/index.php3

i am not going to point out the obvious but...we split the technical section into 4 more relevant sections to help people find the right threads quicker. and we created the benz free zone to remove the non mercedes related discussion from general......and i am sure most members take a quick look at the benz free zone, shake their heads and depart stage left.....

members can see benz bin but guests cant.....so if you dont log in you have at least one section unavaible which cuts down on what you may need to check up on......

i do need to point out that if you go on holiday for a week or so it will take an age to catch up, but the reason you find it more difficult now is that more people use it, and more people post on it, so it is safe to assume that is better just by that fact alone......its just not the old thing we were all used to.....the word change springs to mind.

and even though i dont want to argue........what did your comment have to do with the link i posted??????

still.....when all said and done. any comments from anyone about the forum are useful in someway....so i hope my reply doesnt generate bad feeling.

i disagree i find it easier to keep up, i make use of the 'active topics' buttonquite a lot, and i know which threads have new posts in as they are shown in bold! and if i want to look for anything in particular i use the search facility.
its all there you just need to get used to it!

Uncle,

I thought it was an obvious spot to make my comment - you were asking where to file the item. Im shocked that you suggest that people go away and dont check the site everyday - dont you guys know about laptops and Wifi. MrsC wouldn't now consider a hotel anywhere that doesnt offer WiFi. Surely everyone is always connected now.

Thankyou for you input Mark. But the fact is, the forums have been busier now. Regards broadband, no, a lot of people either don't have it available in their area, or just chose not to have it. No doubt, this will change in the future.

Regards the threads being spread out Mark; Why not use the active topics button.....'last day'. This will group all the latest posts. This is how I manage to read the new posts. I seldom use the catorgies unless searching or posting a new thread.

Any further help Mark, We're always on hand.

We need a bit where we can see the ten most recent posts.

I tend to just browse around four sections, including my favorite electrical section.

Active posts?
