help! part number for emblem? (C220 CDI 02 reg)

Can anyone help me with obtaining a part number for the bonet mounted 3 star emblem (mercedes c220 cdi classic saloon) and/or where abouts I can purchase one cheaply! mine was stolen...

Can also be had on eBay, but not a great deal of difference in price when you consider p/p. (Although one guy on eBay just now says they're £80 retail! Total crap). Roughly around £18.

Stick with the dealers. Ebay ones may be copies and the chrome can peel off. Given the price, the dealer is the best way to go.

Bonnet star blues!

Well, I've joined the undoubtedly long list of owners who have had their bonnet emblem stolen! It really p____d me off to find it missing - such mindless stupidity and selfishness. Mine isn't a new Merc. It's 11 years old, but it still looks great, which must have got to some pathetic ne'erdowell!

I bought an emblem in an auction on Ebay straightaway for £8.8. It looks great, but I don't know if it is the right one for my 1995, N reg. E220. It's a SPRING BACK BONNET EMBLEM, and when I took it out to the car to see how it should attach, the well looked much wider than the base of the emblem, which made me wonder if it is the wrong one. Do they come in different types? The b_____d broke the securing attachment and there is only a tiny metal rod remaining at the bottom. Shouldn't the emblem sit tight in the well? I wish now that I had taken notice when I had the original.

I hope someone out there can help. If not I will take it to the local dealer.

You've probably bought the earlier pre-facelift one like mine, which attaches to the chrome grille surround, instead of to the bonnet panel itself.
