Help Please How to syncronise Remote Fob

Hello I changed the batteries in the remote key fob.. Its a Mercedes E200 Classic Auto w210 series 97 model With only one button flat fold blade key.

I have tried syncronising the key but no luck..

The red and green lights flash in the rear view mirror when I put the key in the ignition.

What is the correct synronising method please.. ?
I can only think it needs syncronising as it was fine before I changed the batteries.

I wish I never changed the batteries as the old ones were working...

I don’t know if this is any use to you as you have a different car from me but no harm in trying, someone else may give you whatever is the correct method for your car.

This is the way I synchronize my key, you can try this;
-Point remote at receiver.
-Press button 2 times in quick succession
-Insert key into ignition and turn to position 2 immediately (all instrument bulbs light up)
-Wait 30 seconds, remove key.
