Help! R129SL Replacement rear window

Hello,


the rear plastic window on my 1997 R129 SL has a large split can this be replaced or is a new hood needed...any advice greatly received ..(uk based)

hey there
I had the plastic rear window replaced on mine. It was not torn but I just thought it was a little yellow, so had a new one put in which is fantastic. Much easier to see through. A local coach-trimmer did it for me, he does a lot of SL and he stitched it all in and did a lovely job.
Mind you that is in Edinburgh

He is basically about 30 secs from Ikea and Costco in Edinburgh. You would drive between them heading away from the city and you will see the Pentland Ind Estate and Ramsays is on the main road about half way up, small unit in red I think. They have been there for over 100 years and do a lot of refurbing of old classics etc. He also fixed the side bolster on my driver's seat where it was a little worn.
Not cheap but fantastic quality of work and well worth it.
