I have a leak in the passenger side of my R reg 1997 C180, the air con hasn't worked since I've had the car, but seems to have now developed a leak.

The water has a greasey, silicon feel and a strange smell, I am not losing any water out of my radiator as far as I know, but as mentioned earlier air con has not work since car was bought 3 months ago, the car appears to be reaching maximum temprature on the blower.

Does anyone have any suggestion, please no shocks I have a weak heart, lol.

Are you sure that it is not from the drain in the air intake box , this is a common problem

I had just come out of a long car was when I noticed it, where would I find the air intake box to check?

It hasn't happened before in the car wash as far as I am aware.

Hi,
If your absolutely sure that you are not losing coolant, it just leaves the air intake box drain like Malcolm says.
It is immediatly in front of the windscreen you have to remove the wiper and all the plastic trim in front at the bottom of the windscreen.
The drain hole is situated slightly off centre to the drivers side, i used a piece of stout wire to unblock it then i ran a hose through it to flush it through.

Would this cause water to pool in the passenger footwell then?
This would make sense because of the amount of water used in the premium car wash, what causes this, is it a build up of crap over time?

This seems to have worked many thanks for all of you that helped I will keep you informed, the big hole with a flap on the passenger side was blocked and the one just underneath the windscreen wiper appeared to be blocked so I have cleared it a best a possible due to the location, sprayed the carpet with Zoflora, so all smell sweet now.

Thankyou

A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to all!!!!

p.s Heart rate is normal so many many thanks.
