Hi, Can any of you guys or gals let me know what additional parts I will require to enable me to fit Comand to my W220.
All I have is the comand 2.5 unit and the wooden facia panel. I have removed the standard audio 10 and the feed/earth and speaker plugs seem the same but it leaves me with a few connections on the rear of the comand for which I have no explanation for.

I have connected to feed/earth and speaker plugs but the unit wont even power up do I need the unit coded to the car before this will operate.

I know I will need a gps aerial but the local dealer say there are to many variations for them to select correctly.

I am ok with the connections I have marked with a green dot (live/earth, speakers, cd changer, fibre optic connector and radio aerial) but I am clueless regarding the ones marked with a red dot ( small multi pin connectors above live/earth, small gold connector at side of radio aerial, small connector below a blue rotating switch, large multi plug connector located on the lower middle of the unit and a slotted connector just under it.

Also there doesnt seem to be any way of mounting the comand in the dash, do I need a seperate bracket or any other parts ?

I would appreciate any help or even a contact who can complete the install for me - I am located in South Lanarkshire.

dont know if this picture will work but I'll give it a go.

If you still need help let me know, you need an adapter, and aerial, £65 for both ,and one hour to install !! You will need it coded for the NAV to show up in the instrument cluster, but it will work without coding. Four screws is all you need to secure to surround

Hi Malcolm, looks like I'm going to get that Audio 10 and Changer installation sorted by Alfie (aka Mark), sounds a thoroughly nice and professional bloke, sincere thanks.
I have another niggle with the heating/ventilation system that's only recently occurred - can you assist with this I wonder. Via the dashboard thumb wheels, the centre vents won't open and the outer vents won't close! Also the 2 Led lights within the central two buttons (between the centre vents) always stay on (albeit the top one does occassionally go off for a while. With regard to the central buttons, I'm positive that the ones in my previous 500SL only came on when pushed to do so - any idea what the probs might be ?

Kind Regards
Dale.

Am I correct to assume then that it's all linked into the operation of the central button LED's as well.

If I remember correctly the top vents work individually to that, its only 2 years ago that I sold mine, and age is getting the better of me
