I just bought an Autoland Scientech pscan D21 tool and an MB-SBC cartridge to disable the SBS on my ':-(03 E240. I ran through the disable procedure and this worked without any trouble. When I selected the reactivate option on the scantool it ran through the steps and got stuck at step 2, came back with the message "ECU rejects the command" and only lets me quit back to the menu. Has anyone had the same or similar trouble? Is there a sensible way to clear the error ( which prevents me putting the car into drive ) and reactivating SBS without having to give my local dealer hundreds of pounds to come and collect it and fix it?

Cheers
Robert

Hi Robert. not an easy one to answer, you may have to get an indie with a Star diagnosis set to come to your house. Its impossible to coment on something that we have never used.

Just as a tip, when working on SBC brakes it is just as easy to unplug the pump

It maybe that ur SBC unit has reached its service threshold and wont allow you to reactivate? only guessing really.... As malcolm says you need to get a star on it. worst case ring service24.

Just remember unplugging it still keeps 200+bar pressure in the system:-(
It's unlikely to activate.................................. but they're your fingers:cry:

I took my battery off when I did mine and left it for an hour pushing the brake pedal down.

I saw in a MB training program that they unplug the pump to demonstrate SBC

Is there any other way to let the pressure out without STAR
