Please guys can you help sycronize my key remote for c class 1994. I soon end up not being able to start it, the other key is playing around too. can you explain exactly how to sycronise it ? PLEASE
As I said in one of your other posts, I find your set up unusual and am not familiar with it, hopefully your picture may give someone else help in advising you.
This is the way I synchronize my key, you can try this;
-Point remote at receiver.
-Press button 2 times in quick succession
-Insert key into ignition and turn to position 2 immediately (all instrument bulbs light up)
-Wait 30 seconds remove key.
Sorry that is the best I can do I hope someone else can help.
hi Dec thanks again i will try again. i am noticing that the light on the remote is not constant it is like it flashes lightly is not on constantly, do you think it mght be the reseason?
Yes, the remote will have a battery inside it, change the battery and try again. The battery may only last about 6? Months. The remote will open, you will have to figure out how.
im new here and don't know how to post a new thread so im having to reply to this...sorry. I have a similar problem to Ian. I have a mercedes C200 elegance 1996 (N-reg). I took out the radio to try on another car and when i put it back in my car won't start. I tried several things with the remote and i think I've desynchronised it with the sensor in the rear view mirror.
Can someone please tell me how to synchronise it and hence to get my car started again (a detailed description will be appreciated thanks)
I presume you have tried all of the above.
Do all lights come on in the instrument cluster when you turn key to position 2?
What happens when you turn key to position 2 and try to start car?
In what way are the lights flashing in the mirror when key is turned to position 2?
Are the flashing alternately, Red Green Red Green,
Or
Are the flashing together, rapidly, Red/Green on, Red/Green off, Red/Green on, Red/Green off, this means your battery need changing. As a temporary measure, to get you going, you can sometimes revive dying batteries (without removing them from the key fob) by putting them in a warm place for 5 minutes, your armpit is ideal.
