The Run down on my problem. I bought this car knowing the main problem with it. The transmission was slipping here and there so having owned several of these cars I have had many parts in the 20+ years of having them. So I removed the transmission and didn't complete overhaul rebuild on the tranny and got a new converter and the bells and whistles to go with. I just finished the transmission and took a trip to Alabama from Florida and the car is perfect. I'm at a friends place and he lives in his farm and it's been getting a bit cold there well I haven't gone anywhere in the car for a few days and I go out to start the car to go to the store I turn the key and nothing no click no sound I mean nothing lights on dash I here fuel pump doing it's thing and turn the key again nothing silence. So I pop the hood I open the fuse box and Boom I flipped out. I'm looking in the fuse box in disbelief and I was angry. I'm on a farm and it's getting cold a mouse or two decided my car was going to be there home so they moved in and decided to chew up all the wires in the fuse box. I mean when I opened that box on the driver side it looked like a box full of gold nothing but gold wires everywhere I was upset now I'm on his farm and I had a w220ni bought for parts which he keeps for me there in his barn so I head there and I go I that car but everything is still intact why didnt they chew this one up so I take the wires I need which was mostly the harnest for the transmission in the other box oh yes they hit that one worst than the driver's side box so bad the computer and the sam unit came out and and I did wire by wire till I got done. I turn the key first fire up and it starts runs just as it always has now I'm on the road and I don't have a xentry system here but I have my
iCarsoft with me and Im getting the code p2108 the Internal electrical check of the shift pressure control solenoid valve has failed. Now when I say that I rebuilt the transmission I mean I redid everything so that is the guts in the tranny the converter, the conductor plate new from Mercedes, and I bought a new set of solenoids, and a filter kit w/ gasket and plug adapter. So I've put everything new in here just cause I'm OCD with things and if I do it it's all new. No I have learned that iCarsoft the codes my not be right at times but has anyone had this code come up on there W220 and if so I would love to here from you if you have time and can help me. One other thing I forgot to tell was I was told it was getting cold where I was going so I disconnected the car battery that night and charged it to full and put it in right before starting the car so there was no power in the car when the rodents decided to move in. So it's saying my pressure solenoid has failed but I drove all the way here and then they are up both fuse boxes and now the P2108 code came up. Thanks for reading and I look forward to any and every advice you guys can share with me thanks Rick

Wow! . Benz wiring does seem to be a rodent magnet. Is that the so called bio degradable wiring or? If they eat at comms wiring. Many odd errors can come up. When if fact the component is OK. Mb comms don't understand rodent induced issues and therefore can flag up all sorts of dramas. Some yrs ago they got at canbus wires on my r230 v12. Took me a month to get to the bottom of that.

Not really relevant, but a pal popped in this week with his 2019 Nissan e-N 200 people bus. It had warning lights on for ABS and TCS. Stored faults were for both rear wheel speed sensors. When I looked under the back the entire wiring loom from the heel board to both rear wheels was missing. Neatly nipped off at the plugs. After a call to Nissan, turns out this is very common. Very common to the extent that all vehicles are affected. Nissan have made the cable insulation out of soya! Rodent magnet! Who is doing this???

Not just Nissan. Many new cars use Soya based insulation now and of course rodents absolutely love it.

All you can do is recheck all the wiring.
As a tip spray all under the bonnet and everywhere accessible with WD40 in future when visiting. Mice don't like it.
