Help With Fan Heater/blower

Hi,
I Urgently Need To Know How I Can Fix The Fanheater On My Mercedes C180 97.
I Turned The Control Panel On But Its Not Making Any Connection With The Fan,its Completely Dead.
Can Anybody Diagnose The Problem And If There Is A Diy Fix.
Everything Else On The Control Panel Works Apart From This.
I Will Say For A Weeks There Was A Weird Noise The From The Fan,like A Grinding Noise Which Could Be Felt On The Steering Wheel.

Sounds like the brushes on the blower motor have gone (a common problem) the best place to buy a new motor is Eurocar parts When i bought mine it was a tad under £100

HI THANKS FOR THE REPLIES , BUT THIS MORNING ITS STARTED WORKING AGAIN WITHOUT THE GRINDING NOISE !! (THIS CAR IS REALLY SCARING ME,ITS GOT A MIND OF ITS OWN) NOT ONLY THAT THE BLOWER IS MUCH MORE BLOWIER (IF THATS A WORD). I'M ACTUALLY QUITE TRAUMATISED, I'VE NOT SLEPT LAST NIGHT THINKING BOUT THE COST OF REPLACING THE FAN ,THEN THIS HAPPENS.........

Just the carbon brushes on the motor worn, or could be that.

It could also be that a leaf or some other rubish has blown in there

Why not slip it out, or get someone to do that,check the brushes and clean and lubricate it

bythe time the brushes are worn out,the commutator is knackered too.

trents in poole had 2 210s in a fortnight ago,the motor should be the same as that 202 ...and thers a c class breaking in the spares bit on here
