Hello

I'm new here and have a problem with my Mercedes vito. It's come up with engine management light and has gone into limp mode. My OBD reader has come up with a fault code P2511 engine control (EC) relay, sense circuit. Circuit intermittent. Previous to that it was running fine, after looking into the code via google it seems to potentially point to a different fault, namely the EGR, so now I'm all confused.

Has anyone has this issue ?

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome.

Which reader did you use, using a cheap reader will only give certain codes and won’t give the full picture. Where are you based perhaps someone can help you with a more specific reader?

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I used a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth OBD II Scanner Diagnostic Code Reader for iOS & Android Compatible with 2001+ Petrol, 2004+ Diesel Cars and Light Trucks reader, not sure if its any good.

I am also in the West Midlands

Hello just a quick update

The AA have been out today and their machine wouldn't connect to the van OBD. We have replaced the glow plug relay as the wire had corroded. The light took a lot longer to come on but came back with the same fault.

We did notice that the glow plug light came on and then went off and came on again, hence why we checked the glow plug relay. That's now back to normal.

Have I missed any relays? The car starts fine and is still in limp mode.

Any help or anyone who has experienced this would be great. Thank you
