Help with GLB MBUX update - Dealer confused!

My GLB 35 AMG went into the dealer for a gearbox reset (due to lumpy changes around 2k rpm). The car was only in for the morning and ran better on its return.

However, the next time I drove it I noticed the MBUX had changed "theme". I tried to change it back but couldn't find the display I had previously. I then realised there were only options for "Standard" and "Sport", whereas before there were a few more. In addition, the AMG symbol has disappeared, the TPMS has vanished, various lights had moved and the speedo now stops at 160mph, rather than 180 before.

I took it back to the dealer and they say it's fine. I'm assuming they have accidentally loaded software for a non-AMG but they don't appear to be on the same page. I've pointed out the issues but they're just not seeing it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how this happens and if it's just a case of re-uploading software?

Many thanks

Hello and welcome,

Yes, they've done a software update and screwed it up - not uncommon these days unfortunately - go back tell them its not "fine" and to update the software again correctly

Thanks for the reply.

Considering the vastly different engines, is there a chance of damage if I continue to drive it? They said it was an engine software update which is why I'm worried.

They're now saying they can't get it in for 5 weeks.

Take it back and go and talk to the service manager. Advise them politely that the service you’ve been given is in no way commensurate with what is expected as Mercedes AMG owner from a Mercedes garage. Give them an opportunity to update it whilst you sit and have a coffee with the service manager.
