HELP WITH W202 1994 C200 Faulty ELECTRIC sunroof

Hi there! I am in UK.. In Scotland... West Coast.. I own a 1994 (26years old!) C200 with timewarp condition & only 19,500 miles supported by ALL M.O.T.s... I think I need to replace the SUNROOF MOTOR as only opening on tilt now! Will not slide! Also used to use a Family company in PAISLEY called Silver Star Motors.. JOE..TOM & DAVID WATSON.. Not sure if they are still in business?.. Any help chaps?.

Welcome not sure about your car but my 2011 E350 uses the motor to open on tilt.

Welcome. Yes l think the one 202 l owned that had a sunroof used the motor for tilt and slide. Therefore l think the motor should be OK and you may need to look elsewhere for the fault. Can't believe the low mileage by the way. A 1994 will be a pre facelift model and superior to the later facelifted version in my opinion, particularly with regard to corrosion.

Hi sorry for late reply. NOW July 30th.. LARGS....Yip Garage in Paisley closed now.. Still have fault. Someone has suggested there is a " COG LIKE belt or Metal WORM screw that allows it to go back & forward?. Though I have been unable to fing pictures of this or a scematic?.. Still hoping!!

Normally the slide tilt L shaped brackets break. They are cast ally and snap.
